Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Yamadori, a bonsai nursery game for iPhone ("the App"), made by its developer ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. They're written to be read — short, plain, and fair.

1. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. The App, its code, art, design, and the Yamadori name remain our property.

2. Your account

An account (email and password) is required to play, so your nursery can be backed up and restored. You're responsible for keeping your credentials private and for activity under your account. You can have your account deleted at any time by emailing us (see Contact below).

3. Purchases

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and Apple's payment and refund policies apply. In-game items and currency (such as leaves) have no real-world value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may be adjusted as part of game balancing.

4. Your trees, your names

You may name trees and places in your nursery. Keep names you wouldn't mind a stranger reading over your shoulder — we may reset names that are unlawful, hateful, or abusive if they ever surface in shared contexts (such as show entries or exported posters you distribute).

5. Fair use

Don't reverse engineer, copy, resell, or redistribute the App; don't attempt to disrupt our services or access other players' data. Posters and screenshots you export of your own trees are yours to share anywhere, including commercially modest uses like social media — we'd love that, actually.

6. The App is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep Yamadori beautiful and reliable, but the App is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Trees may grow in unexpected directions. That's partly the point.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose.

8. Ending things

You can stop using the App at any time and request account deletion by email. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. If we ever discontinue the App's online services, your locally stored nursery remains yours.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
